Hotels Selianitika

The seaside village Selianitika is located in the northwestern Peloponnese and belongs to the municipality of Aigialeia in Achaia. It is just 7 km from Aigio, 35 km from Patras and 55 km from the historic Kalavryta, and borders Longos, Rhododafni and Neratzies villages.

The name Selianitika comes from the mountain village Seliana, whose inhabitants were settled there  during the Ottoman period. They also brought the cult of St. Basil who is the patron of the community. Thereafter, they went there and residents of the villages Perithori, Vergouvitsa of Aigeira and Zacholi of Corinth.

The village was popular for its thermal spas and they have been classified as “tourist place” with presidential decree since 1976. The village has a picturesque pebble beach with clear waters, restaurants, taverns, coffee – bar, rooms to let, hotels, outdoor cinema, shops, regional medical center and football field 5 x 5.

For your entertainment local clubs engage in various cultural events especially during the summer. The Cultural Association of Selianitika “Helios” has contributed significantly to the development of the community.

In Selianitika has established the Athletics Club “Keravnos”with the football team which was founded in 1983. It participated in the championships of Union of Football Associations of Achaia in B and C category.

The area is an ideal base for visiting the Great Cave, Agia Lavra, Kalavryta ski center, Aigio, Patras and Ancient Olympia.

How to get there

By car
From Athens through Olympia Motorway / A8 / E94 and E65, in approximately 2 hours and 9 minutes.
From Araxos Airport via E55 and NR Corinth Patras / E65 / EO8A, in 1 hour.
From Patras via NR Corinth Patras / E65 / EO8A, in 35 minutes.
From Ancient Olympia via E65, in 1 hour and 55 minutes.
From Kalavryta through the Provincial Road Punda – Kalavryta and NR Corinth Patras / E65 / EO8A, in 1 hour.

By bus
From Patras there are regular itinaries “Patras – Aigio”, passing through the Selinitika community.
From Athens to Patras, Aigio is intermediate stop and from there you can reach Selianitika by bus (Aigio – Kamares) or taxi.

The TRAINOSE has launched buses from Kiato, Terminal Suburban Athens to Patras, with a stopover in Aigio.
